This week we reported on WWE's intention to record multiple episodes of Monday Night Raw and Friday Night SmackDown over the weekend. The intention of the company was to advance content to be sure of being able to broadcast all its programs in complete safety for the next few weeks. This has changed and is that the next episodes of Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown and NXT will be broadcast live. As reported by Dave Meltzer, a journalist for the Wrestling Observer, the idea of recording all the episodes changed yesterday at noon at the express order of Vince McMahon, who decided to edit a large part of the SmackDown script. "The decision not to make recordings throughout the weekend, as previously scheduled, came during the middle of the day when McMahon announced that it would change everything on SmackDown and the show was approaching broadcast time," he wrote. Meltzer. According to Meltzer, many at the company were surprised by the decision. Nearby people have defended it and believe it was the right financial decision, even though it may be questioned at this time. Apparently FOX and NBC Universal have an agreement with WWE to broadcast a certain number of shows live annually. Monday Night Raw has multiple recordings this year, counting pre-WrestleMania episodes, the last show aired on Christmas, and two more from the last European tour. Vince wants to avoid approaching the figure in particular, although it is also true that channels such as the USA Network depend on WWE because it is their only live show and one of the only shows that is currently being updated.
